Better Passport Bro Destination: Punta Cana or Sosua ?
In Sosua, there are times where there will be chicas “clocking in” at the popular restaurant Bailees by 9 am or earlier.
Recently a subscriber asked me if it’s better to visit Punta Cana or Sosua.
To be honest, you can’t go wrong either way, but there are some differences between the two places that are important to beware of.
Chica Schedule
If you are the the type of guy who has a sweet tooth for breakfast, lunch and dinner then Sosua is a better place to go.
In Sosua, there are times where there will be chicas “clocking in” at the popular restaurant Bailees by 9 am or earlier.
By lunch time during the busy season, which is Halloween and the Super Bowl, there will be women walking up and down the beach and practically on every corner of Pedro Clisante.
At night, there are so many chicas out sometimes the women will be catcalling and harassing you instead of the other way around.
However in Punta Cana the situation is very different.
Most of the chica action is just going to happen at night from around 10 pm to the early morning in the vicinity of club Infinity.
Sometimes in Playa Cortecito, which is about 5-8 minutes away from club Infinity there will be some chicas out, but they usually look pretty busted.
City Design
Sosua is a very small beach town that lends itself to being a great place for some R&R.
I have heard people say though that Sosua is a bit boring if you stay there longer than a week or so.
Which I would say if you are the type of person who likes to do a lot of different activities and go different places then I’d agree that Sosua is not that type of vacation destination.
Punta Cana is very spread out and I’d definitely recommend renting a car if you want to explore everything it has to offer.
For example, Infinity is in Bavaro, which is about 20 minutes north of Coco Bongo, a popular show and disco location.
Around 15 minutes south of Coco Bongo is the Blue Mall, where there are a lot of name brand stores and boutique restaurants.
So if you want to be in a walkable area then I’d recommend Sosua compared to Punta Cana that has more to do but is much more spread out.
Vibe
Even though Sosua is a major tourist destination, it still retains a very authentic Dominican feel.
I think this is because there aren’t that many resorts in the area and also it’s very close to a lot of barrios like Charamicos , Sosua Abajo, and etc.
I will note that that is rapidly changing with a lot of money coming in over the years, some businessmen eye to make Sosua more resort like, but we will see what happens.
Punta Cana is a certified resort destination. So you see more families, solo female travelers, honeymooners and other types of tourists.
As a result the government has taken more measures to curb chicas from just being outside like in Sosua.
For example I heard that if a woman gets caught hoeing on the streets of Punta Cana she could be in jail for about a week. In Sosua if that happens she’ll be in for a night and then right back out to hoeing.
Also the hotel situation in Punta Cana is a bit more tricky, because some of them don’t even allow guests that were not a part of the original booking.
In Sosua there are a few Airbnbs that might not allow guests, but in general as long as the woman has her cedula or ID then she’ll be able to get in.
As I said before you can’t go wrong with either one because there are baddies in both places. But at the end of the day if I only had a week to vacation I would choose Sosua over Punta Cana.
